WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR COURSE

Each course is full time, with four days a week on site in venues, or our office classroom, and one research day at home.

Every course has a slightly different schedule of one off venue visits and opportunities which have previously included a trip to Download Festival to meet with the production manager, photoshoots at Livestock Studios, and viewing arena scale load ins for internationally renowned artists.

  • First you’ll get to meet us along with your course mates in our North Shields office. Expect the hands on tutorials to begin straight away as you’ll meet our professional tour managers and backline techs who will help you understand more about the various roles available in our industry and get you started with setting up a stage.

  • Every course varies a little, but each one is always packed with workshops to help introduce you to new areas of work and develop essential skills. Expect to head out and about to a wide range of music venues, theatres and events spaces. You’ll have a series of tutorials in backline and stage set up, executing a tech spec and micing instruments. You’ll also have workshops in using a front of house sound desk, lighting, video wall, pyrotechnics, power cables, PA and much more.

  • As part of your course, you’ll be asked to research a particular role within the industry and create a report. It’s a good idea to get stuck in with the variety of workshops and find out what area interests you the most.

  • At the end of the course, you’ll be ready for work and we will help prepare you for an interview with an employer that staffs arena level shows.
